Founded in 2020 by Vasfije Krasniqi – Goodman, Vasfije's Initiative came into existence following Vasfije’s extensive advocacy work to shed light on the plight of survivors of rape and sexual violence during the Kosovo war.
Vasfije's Initiative supports the survivors of the Kosovo war, and advocates on their behalf by raising awareness around the world about their plight. We will do so by offering programs and services that will help survivors regain financial stability, a renewed sense of purpose for themselves, their families, and communities, and restore their dignity from the trauma they’ve experienced.
Vasfije is a member of SEMA, the global network of survivors and victims to end wartime rape, facilitated by the Mukwege Foundation, led by Dr. Denis Mukwege of the Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She is also a founder of NGO "Justice For All" in Kosovo.
